wearing.jpgI couldn’t wait any longer. I had to share my apron for the swap. I used fabric in beautiful spring colors from Jo-Ann. What says Spring more than green gingham and yellow flowers. This was my first attempt at this pattern, and I love it. The pattern is: Four Corners Apron by Vanilla House Designs. I picked this pattern up at a local quilt shop along with the children’s version. I’ll definitely make this again.
I also made crochet dish cloths to match the apron. I used crochet cotton that I picked up from Michael’s. These whipped up easily. I made them yesterday in the course of an hour with a couple of child care breaks.I mailed my apron today, so my fingers are crossed that my partner likes her goods. This is my first swap, so I’m excited about the outcome. I can’t wait to get my swap in the mail, also. This was a lot of fun. I see more swaps in my future.
Oh, I almost forgot. I had to add cute little buttons. I found these atJo-Ann, and they matched perfectly. I think they add that little extra fun to the apron. They make me smile every time I see them.

I sent my apron off today…talking about waiting to the last minute, huh?!?!  But, I had a lot of fun making it.  I made a couple of extra items to send with it yesterday.  I’ll try to post pictures in the next couple of days.  I hope my swap partner likes her gifts!

Ultimate Blog Party 2008

I’m joining the Thankful Thursday crowd at Sting My Heart. Here’s a list of things that I am thankful to the Lord for this week:

  • I am thankful that my children are in good health and happy.
  • I’m thankful for the uplifting package that I received from my Mom today.  I really needed that.
  • I’m thankful for the projects that I finished this week.  The Lord guided my hand in finishing the apron for the apron swap and in several crochet projects.
  • I’m thankful for the house and car that we own.  So many are without a home or transportation.
  • I’m thankful that my husband is safe.  I worry about him a lot while he is away.
  • I am so thankful that we have a fridge full of groceries.  There are many empty tummies out there.
  • I am thankful that I live in the United States it truly is the greatest nation.
  • I am thankful that I can worship freely.

You Are Bare Feet

You are a true free spirit, and you can’t be tied down.

Even wearing shoes can be a little too constraining for you at times! You are very comfortable in your own skin.

You are one of the most real people around. You don’t have anything to hide.

Open and accepting, you are willing to discuss or entertain almost any topic.

You are a very tolerant person. You are accepting and not judgmental.

You should live: Somewhere warm

You should work: At your own business, where you can set the rules

I saw this on Coffee Mom’s blog and thought that I would give it a whirl. I love these fun web things.
