I wanted to share a little of our holiday with you. I hope Santa brought you everything that you wanted! My kids sure did have a good time. They opened presents all Christmas morning…dressed in their special matching Children’s Place pjs. I try to get them matching pjs every year. This probably won’t be a tradition that lasts too long, so I’ll enjoy it while I can.
I woke before the kids did. They are still too young to get us up really early. Little Man woke about 8…I had to wake Sleeping Beauty. My son was more interested in if Santa ate the cookies, at first. He soon got over that and went for his stocking. Grandparents sent loads of fun gifts. Santa delivered American Girl Bitty Twins, Yo Gabba Gabba toys, Star Wars toys, Power Ranger toys, and a skateboard. I was excited about the new Crock Pot and huge Tupperware mixing bowl that my mom sent. My hubby bought me a really nice set of planner and business card holders. We don’t really get each other much for Christmas…we make it all about the kids. We get enough throughout the year. It is so much fun to watch them open presents! We had so much fun!
After presents, a nice holiday lunch followed…ham, deviled eggs, mac ‘n cheese, a delicious chocolate chip and pecan bundt cake…need I say more. Here are a few scenes from our day, enjoy and have a Happy New Year’s!
I love to do crafts during the holidays with my kids. The crafts aren’t usually extravagant, but they are fun. Each time we make something together, I know I’m giving a little of what I love to them. They love just being with their Mommy and getting special attention.
This year we made construction paper Christmas trees. I cut out a tree, ornaments and a star. They glued the ornaments and the star to the tree. I helped them make glue lines for the garland. Then, we sprinkled different colors of glitter on the trees. When they had dried, we hung them on their doors. All it took was a little time, but we gained more than money could buy. After the holidays, I’ll pack up those little paper trees and cherish them for the rest of my life.
I’m so happy to have an interview on 5 minutes for mom!

They have such a wonderful site, and I am so honored to be on there. Thanks so much!
I made these two purses for two very special women…my mom and step mom. I really hope they like them. I’ve been wanting to try this pattern for some time, but never got around to it. I thought these would make perfect gifts, so out came the pattern.
It is a great pattern and really works up so fast. I’m not just saying that…it goes way fast! I’m planning on making myself one of these just as soon as the holidays are over and I can find a spare minute.
I also made matching key fobs. I bought the webbing and hardware here. They were simple. I just decided how large I wanted to make them, cut the webbing, cut the fabric, folded the fabric, ironed the fabric, and sewed the fabric to the webbing. Then, you fold the webbing in half, stick it in the hardware, and use pliers to mash it down. Then, you have a cute key fob!
The rose purse is made using Swell fabric…I lined the inside with white cotton. The other purse is the Ginger Blossom and Bell Bottoms fabric combo that I’m sure you are all getting tired of
It was the last of this fabric in my stash…I think it was perfect for this bag!
I hope they like their presents. I kind of wanted to keep them, but knew they were going to be cared for and I can always make my own later
