Charm Skirt: Day 6
Day 6 : Adding the Ruffle
First you need to run a gathering stitch along the top of your skirt and ruffle pieces. A gathering stitch is a long machine stitch and will help us gather the pieces to the correct size. I stopped my gathering stiches at each seam on the ruffle to make it more managable.
Gather and pin the ruffle in place along the bottom of the skirt piece. Stitch in place and finish the seam with a serger or a zig zag stitch. I simply serged it into place.
Turn the ruffle under, press, and topstitch in place. This is what your skirt should look like at this point.
Now, your ruffle is attached. Our next day will be attaching the waistband and this is our final step. Leave any questions in the comments section, and I’ll try to answer them.
